You have entered your third and final trimester and left your second trimester behind at 29 weeks pregnant. Though energy will be focused on your baby, there is still time to get some things done before you are easily fatigued.

Your uterus is about 3.5 inches above your belly button and the increasing size can contribute to heartburn and constipation. This can be managed with diet and eating small meals several times a day. Adequate water is very important during the last trimester to help with constipation, edema, and waste elimination.
Though it will be more difficult to eat large meals due to size of the baby, it will be very important to maintain a healthy diet because the baby’s nutritional needs will be increasing. Rest will be increasingly more important.
Light exercise and raising your feet will help with swelling.
Baby’s Development At 29 Weeks Pregnant
At 29 weeks your baby is about 15 inches long and 2.5 – 2.7 lbs. Your baby’s lungs and muscles are maturing along with the brain. The brain is developing billions of neurons daily.
Nutritional needs of your baby are increasing. Try eating foods rich in iron, folic acid, vitamin c and protein to meet these needs.
Your baby is able to suck and cough.
Breathing and body temperature are controlled by your baby’s brain. Wrinkles are disappearing and the skin is becoming smoother.
There is lots of movement felt, but as the baby’s room decreases, the movements will change. The movements will become less dramatic as the baby is unable to stretch out.
A premature baby born in the third trimester has an excellent chance of surviving with the technological advances that are available.
Life At 29 Weeks Pregnant
Though it may seem like you cannot slow down if you work and have a family, you will need to find a way to do so and get help with responsibilities and learn to let things go.
They may not be as important as you think, especially when you find yourself getting run down and not providing the best you can for your baby.
Soon, there will be added responsibilities and precious moments that will be taking up time that was devoted to other things. Organizing and prioritizing will be important skills when your baby comes.
